The actress admitted she was 'nervous' and 'didn't know what to do' during the memorable moment, in a new book.
In Alan Sepinwall's latest book, "Welcome to the O.C.: The Oral History," actress Rachel Bilson, 42, recounted a memorable moment when Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen came to her rescue amid a fervent crowd of Adam Brody fans. The incident took place during Bilson's appearance on MTV's TRL, where fans of her former O.C. co-star and boyfriend, Brody, swarmed them.

Bilson shared in the book, "The Olsen twins rescued me and threw me in their car. I left Brody behind because I was so nervous and didn’t know what to do. And they were like, ‘Don’t you need to get your boyfriend?’ And I was like, ‘Oh, yeah, we’ve got to go get him.’ He was being mobbed."
In the same book, Adam Brody, reflecting on his O.C. fame, admitted to not recalling many overwhelming moments. However, Bilson countered his memory, stating, "I don’t want to say he’s lying because he may not remember. He stands corrected." Although Brody didn't remember the TRL incident, he acknowledged the realization of his fame when a woman grabbed him and expressed, "Welcome to Hollywood."

Rachel and Adam dated from 2003 to 2006, navigating the challenges of fame together. Despite their romance ending before the show concluded, Bilson acknowledged the positive impact it had on her adjustment to fame. She expressed gratitude for having someone who understood the unique experience, given the nature of the show and their shared journey through it.
